Belgian Beer Weekend Fukuoka

If you like beer but have never tried Belgian beer, it’s about time you do. It’s some of the best premium beer in the world, with a remarkable range of flavor. And if you have indeed tried Belgian beer and you like it, then it’s time to try even more. Belgian Beer Weekend Fukuoka will offer the opportunity for all to try dozens of varieties in a festive setting that also includes great live music and Belgian food. It runs from July 24th to 28th in Tenjin’s central park and will definitely be a party you won’t want to miss.

Belgian Beer Weekend launched in 2010 with a 3-day festival in Roppongi that was hugely popular. It spread to Osaka the following year and to Nagoya the year after that. This year, Fukuoka (as well as Yokohama) has been added to the line-up. No doubt Fukuoka beer lovers are excited about this development and organizers are hoping for roughly 10,000 people.

Guests can purchase ¥3100 “starter sets” which come with an original glass and 12 beer/food “coins.” That’s enough for 3 Belgian beers, a main dish and dessert, for example. You can always load up on more coins if you want to keep drinking. Over 70% of the beers cost just ¥600 (premium varieties, ¥800 and ¥1000). Roughly half of the beers offered will be draft, the other half, bottled. Most will be specialty beers, including a great variety of fruity beers, followed by traditional trappist beers. What does this all mean? Wonderfully delicious beers to suit palates of all kinds.

Belgian Beer Weekend Fukuoka will not be just some imitation cultural event. Some of the biggest names in Belgian beer are involved and it also has the support of a number of cultural agencies, not to mention the Belgian embassy. Attendees can look forward to live music from internationally acclaimed acts as well as an array of traditional Belgian food. Bring your friends, family, love interests or coworkers. All are welcome who love great beer and good times!

*Presale starter sets (glass + 12 coins) are available from ticketing machines at 7-11, Circle K Sunkus and Ticket PIA.
